Cookie Butter Cafe Au Lait

Iconic airplane cookies meet coffee with this simple yet satiating café au lait. We’re making this coffee drink “au lait” style, which is a fancy way to say steamed milk. And we’re stepping up the decadence of this coffee drink with rich, creamy half and half.

A café au lait traditionally combines equal parts milk with fresh-brewed coffee, but you can also combine with a shot (or two, or three) of espresso to turn a café au lait into a latte.

Pro tip: Have a barista moment
Looking to elevate your morning cup of joe? Or even put the finishing touch on this Cookie Butter Au Lait recipe? We recommend investing in a handheld milk frother, which can be purchased online for around $10. With this handy kitchen tool, you can froth your milk or cream for coffee and hot drinks for an at-home coffee shop experience. Plus, they work like a charm to emulsify dressings, blend in protein powder and more.

Perfect pairings for your creative coffee drinks:

Ingredients
6 ounces half and half
2 Biscoff® cookies, plus more for serving (optional)
1 tablespoon cookie butter (Biscoff brand or other)
6 ounces freshly brewed coffee of choice

Method
In a small saucepan, heat half and half with Biscoff cookies until warm. Strain cookies and whisk in cookie butter to combine. Using a handheld frother, froth half and half until airy and volume has increased by about 25% (this step is optional). Pour your café au lait into a large mug and top with half and half.
