It’s no secret that parenting is hard work — now imagine raising four children and milking 100 cows each day. For Sarah Honkomp, a dairy farmer in eastern Iowa, and her family, this is her reality. In between milkings and her family’s busy schedule, she’s learned to appreciate the little moments that make life beautiful while raising her family on their dairy farm.

“I milk a lot later than your normal person because I have to get the kids ready and wherever they need to be, whether it be weightlifting or on the bus to school,” Sarah says. “But by eight o'clock in the morning I'm outside, and I start milking and doing all of my other chores.”
