Homemade French Onion Soup Mix

Homemade French Onion Soup Mix

Looking for an easy edible gift idea? Mix up (pun intended!) the usual cookie mixes and hot cocoa mixes by gifting this homemade French onion soup mix to your family and friends. (Although we love a good cookie mix or hot cocoa mix, too.)

Dried herbs and spices are combined for a flavorful blend that your recipient can use to make a comforting bowlful of soup (instructions included).

While the soup is delicious, this perfect French onion soup mix can also be used to season meats, or to add flavor to dips and pot roasts.

Tips for gifting this homemade French onion soup mix:

  • Mason jars or hinged glass jars make great containers for gifting this homemade French onion soup mix. If you want to be more sustainable, reuse containers you already have or go thrifting to hunt down secondhand jars

  • Decorate the jar with pretty ribbon, bows or fabric

  • Include a recipe card with handwritten preparation instructions. This soup mix couldn’t be easier to make. All the recipe calls for is water, but we recommend heavy cream and a toasted baguette slice for garnishing
