Vegetable Dip Mix

Vegetable Dip Mix

Whether gifting to friends and family or whipping up a batch for yourself, this vegetable dip mix is great to have on hand. Paired with raw veggies, it makes for a quick appetizer in a pinch. It’s also an easy and affordable homemade gift idea or a cute stocking stuffer.

The secret ingredient to a creamy vegetable dip

Made with a blend of dried herbs and spices, this vegetable dip mix seems average, but one ingredient sets it apart from your typical veggie dip: buttermilk powder.

This often-overlooked ingredient lends extra creaminess to the dip when mixed into equal parts sour cream and mayonnaise (full preparation instructions below). But don’t worry. You don’t need to order buttermilk powder online or search high and low at a specialty grocery store. Buttermilk powder is available in the baking aisle of your local grocery store. (You’ll wonder why you never noticed it before!)

Tips for gifting this homemade vegetable dip mix:

  • Mini Mason jars or small hinged glass jars make great containers for gifting this homemade vegetable dip mix. If you want to be more sustainable, reuse containers you already have or go thrifting to hunt down secondhand jars

  • Decorate the jar with pretty ribbon or twine

  • Include a recipe card with handwritten preparation instructions
